I bought my first camera in 1972, when I was stationed in Vietnam. At that time, the method I used to select the best camera on the market was to purchase a camera with the largest brochure. Although I was somewhat naive in my selection process, the Canon F-1 turned out to be a great camera and I was served well for many years with the purchase. Today, I satisfy my insatiable passion for photography with the Canon EOS-1D, Mark lll model.
I am greatly indebted to Dr. George T. French, Jr., President of Miles College, (which is located in Fairfield, Alabama, near Birmingham), for enlisting me as his personal photographer and giving me free range of the campus to photograph, in good taste, a true depiction of college life at one of the nation's most prolific Historically Black Colleges/Universities (HBCUs). Under the tutelage of Dr. French, Miles College has ascended the ranks of greatness, advancing to one of the top three Colleges in the nation in the number of African-American students graduated. So, in my repertoire you will see various pictures taken at Miles, my alma mater. Moreover, I would be remiss if I did not include the greatest fraternity in the world, my fraternity, Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.
I have been a free lance photographer for over 30 years, delving into areas of photography from aerial to underwater. I am the consummate student of photography. Until this very day, my interests in different areas of photography are so vast that I don't specialize in only one or two areas. Please enjoy my photography as I take you on a journey that mirrors life-interesting and varied.
